Fire now in Marathonas, 3 helicopters deployed – Message from 112 urges residents to evacuate toward Nea Makri and Marathonas

Strong firefighting forces in the area

A fire has broken out in low vegetation in the area of Marathonas, prompting an alert from the fire department.

Regarding the firefighting forces that have been mobilized, 96 firefighters, 2 ground teams, 18 vehicles, volunteers, and 3 helicopters have rushed to the scene.

According to an official update from the fire department, reeds, low vegetation, and pine trees are burning. Firefighting vehicles from Nea Makri, Marathonas, and Neo Voutzas have been dispatched to the area.
