U.S. Senate schedules July 9 hearing for Kimberly Guilfoyle’s nomination as Ambassador to Greece

After the hearing, her nomination will also have to be confirmed by the Senate plenary

Newsroom July 3 07:30

The U.S. Senate Foreign Relations Committee has scheduled a hearing for July 9 to consider the nomination of Kimberly Guilfoyle, former First Lady of San Francisco, as U.S. Ambassador to Greece. Her nomination was put forward by former President Donald Trump.

The hearing will take place at 10:00 a.m. local time in Washington, D.C. Following the committee hearing, Guilfoyle’s appointment must be confirmed by a full Senate vote.

If confirmed, Guilfoyle is expected to depart for Athens shortly after President Trump’s swearing-in ceremony, which is set to be held in the Oval Office of the White House.
