Marinakis: Libya’s verbal warning has no impact – We won’t weigh our sovereign rights against who might be offended

"All these are reactions to specific steps that Greece had taken and had not taken for decades," the government spokesman said

Newsroom July 17 01:15

“Reaction produces no effect” was the comment of government spokesman Pavlos Marinakis in response to a question about Tripoli’s verbal warning to the UN, adding that “it adds nothing to the chilopropes that are not recognized by anyone, such as the invalid and unsubstantiated Turcoli memorandum.”

“After too many years, the country has concrete action with a footprint and a result and action brings reaction. All these are reactions to specific steps that Greece had taken and had not taken for decades,” Marinakis also commented.

Responding to “those in the political system and the media who promote rhetoric of intolerance”, the government spokesman said, “We have not decided to put our sovereign rights on the national scale based on who will be annoyed. We will defend them, we will defend them by stepping on the Law of the Sea.”
