Video: The moment of the WWII mine explosion in Pyrgos

A World War II mine, which had been discovered in the sea area of Agios Ilias in Pyrgos, was destroyed through a controlled explosion.

The mine was located last February between Agios Ilias and Douneika, in the area known as “Karapata.”

According to ilialive.gr, a bomb disposal team from the Mine Clearance Unit, in cooperation with the Katakolo Port Authority, arrived at the site and carried out the controlled detonation today, Thursday.
