From the opening tip, the Finns showcased intensity and precision, racing to a 28–15 lead at the end of the first quarter. Their ball movement was exemplary, with 18 assists and just one turnover in the first half, while their three-point shooting reached an astonishing 67% (10/15). At halftime, Finland was firmly in control, leading 57–40.

Georgia fought back valiantly, but foul trouble and ejections for key players like Goga Bitadze and Tornike Shengelia crippled their chances of a comeback. Despite spirited efforts from Sandro Mamukelashvili and Duda Sanadze, the Georgians could not keep pace with Finland’s relentless offensive execution.

Lauri Markkanen played a pivotal role with timely baskets and strong defense, while Edon Maxhuni and Elias Valtonen added crucial points from the perimeter. Jantunen also had a standout performance, finishing as one of the top scorers of the night.

Georgia’s journey, however, will be remembered as historic. The team reached the EuroBasket quarterfinals for the first time ever, stunning France in the round of 16 after narrowly advancing from the group stage.
