Two Israeli men were seriously wounded in a shooting attack near the Allenby crossing, between the West Bank and Jordan, according to Israel’s emergency service Magen David Adom. Rescuers arriving at the scene found both victims unconscious, and shortly afterward, one of them (identity not disclosed) was pronounced dead.
Israeli police have not yet issued an official statement on the incident. However, Israeli media reported that the attack occurred near the Israeli-controlled checkpoint and that the assailant has been “neutralized.”
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) confirmed it had received a report of the incident and is reviewing the details. The exact nature of the attack and the motives of the perpetrator remain unclear.
The second victim remains in critical condition, while authorities continue investigating the circumstances and causes of the attack.
