German FinMin Wolfgang Schaeuble on Wednesday continued to hammer away at his Greek counterpart FinMin Yanis Varoufakis, a day before a crucial vote in the Bundestag to approve a four-month extension of the Greek loan agreement.

According to ruling CDU party MPs who spoke to Reuters, Schaeuble said Varoufakis’ statements “hurt the solidarity of European partners”. He also repeated that if Athens does not meet its requirements, as per the recent agreement, then the latter will be considered null and void.

Schaeuble’s comment referred to Yanis Varoufakis’ recent interviews, where the he often spoke of a debt “haircut” — a subject that all but vanished from subsquent negotiations with eurozone creditors.
