A large crane that had been deployed to load wind turbine components overturned this morning near the Stylida customs area.

According to lamiareport.gr, the operator survived with minor scratches, escaping through the broken glass of the damaged cabin.

An investigation into the exact circumstances of the industrial accident is being conducted by the Stylida Port Authority, which will also examine whether the strict safety rules and measures required for such operations were followed.

The area was cordoned off until the heavy vehicle could be lifted and the large pieces of the wind turbines cleared.
