During a Speech in the Knesset, Netanyahu Praises American-Israeli Soldier as a Symbol of Courage and Resilience

During his address to the Knesset, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu praised Ari Spitz, an American-Israeli soldier who lost three limbs during operations in Gaza, calling him a symbol of courage and endurance.

Speaking to members of the Knesset, Netanyahu referred to Israel’s wounded soldiers, placing particular emphasis on the case of the American-Israeli soldier who was severely injured in Gaza.
“Thousands of our brave soldiers have been wounded, suffering terrible blows to body and soul. Brave soldiers like Ari Spitz,” Netanyahu said, describing him as an example of heroism.

According to the Israeli prime minister, Spitz took part in an operation to locate Hamas terrorists and weapons, during which two of his comrades were killed and ten others wounded. He was initially believed to be dead but ultimately survived and managed to recover despite his serious injuries.

During the speech, Netanyahu asked the soldier to stand for a moment, saying:

“Ari, you are the spirit of Joshua, the spirit of David, the spirit of the Maccabees, the spirit of Israel. I honor you — we all honor you.”

Spitz’s presence in the chamber was met with warm applause, as Netanyahu emphasized that his story reflects the strength and perseverance of the Israeli people.
