The Minister and the Deputy Minister of Environment and Energy, Stavros Papastavrou and Nikos Chafos, had a working meeting today with the Vice President of ExxonMobil, responsible for European Relations, Nikolaas Baeckelmans and the General Manager of MobilOil’s Office in Greece, Georgios Prasino.

According to the Ministry of Environment and Energy, the discussion focused on ExxonMobil’s energy interest in Greece, as well as on broader issues of Europe’s energy transition, following meetings with ExxonMobil Vice President John Ardill, held by Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis in New York and the Minister of Environment and Energy at the Gastech Forum in Milan.

Earlier, Papastavrou had a telephone conversation with Israel’s Energy Minister, Eli Cohen, during which they discussed issues of mutual energy interest in the Eastern Mediterranean.
