U.S. President Donald Trump announced that following his meeting in South Korea with Chinese President Xi Jinping, he will visit China in April. After that visit, President Xi is expected to make a return visit to the United States.
President Trump said the two leaders agreed to cooperate on the war in Ukraine, while also confirming that tariffs on Chinese goods would be reduced from 57% to 47%.
Meanwhile, a U.S. official traveling with the president stated that China will maintain the flow of rare earth exports, a key issue in trade relations between the two countries.
Trump added that the Taiwan issue was not raised during his talks with President Xi.
When asked to rate the meeting, President Trump gave it a score of “12 out of 10.”
