The Minister of National Defence, Nikos Dendias, accompanied by the Chief of the Hellenic National Defence General Staff (GEETHA), General Dimitrios Choupis, and the Chief of the Hellenic Navy General Staff (GEN), Vice Admiral Dimitrios-Eleftherios Katara, will travel tomorrow, Thursday, December 18, to Lorient, France, where he will attend the naming ceremony and the raising of the Greek flag on the first FDI HN (“Belh@rra”) F-601 frigate “Kimon.”
During his visit, the Minister of National Defence will meet in Lorient with his French counterpart, Catherine Vautrin.
According to the announcement, the meeting will address issues of bilateral defence cooperation, regional and European security, as well as prospects for further deepening the strategic relationship between the two countries.
Special emphasis will be placed on the implementation of existing agreements, cooperation in the defence industry, and coordination between the two sides in facing modern security challenges.
