Newsroom January 16 10:30

A collision between a city bus and a train caused the death of one person and injured ten others today in the port area of Hamburg, the fire brigade told Agence France-Presse.

All the victims were on board the bus. In addition to the person who was killed, the driver is “fighting for his life,” two people were seriously injured, and six others sustained minor injuries, a fire service spokesperson told AFP.

Some of the injured received first aid at the scene, while another was taken to hospital. The bus driver “was the last to be freed, as he had been trapped,” according to the same source.

The train driver was not injured.
