Greece’s Minister of National Defence, Nikos Dendias, will travel to Bulgaria tomorrow at the invitation of his Bulgarian counterpart Atanas Zapryanov, with whom he will hold bilateral talks.
The visit of the Minister of National Defence follows the deployment of a MIM-104 Patriot missile battery near the Greek–Bulgarian border in order to strengthen the neighboring country’s anti-ballistic protection, as well as the stationing of a pair of F-16 Fighting Falcon fighter aircraft at an airport in northern Greece.
After the meeting between Mr. Dendias and his Bulgarian counterpart, joint statements will follow. During his visit to Sofia, the Greek Minister of National Defence will also be received by the Prime Minister of Bulgaria, Andrey Gurov.
The Greek minister’s visit to Bulgaria is taking place in the context of strengthening bilateral relations in the fields of Defense, Security, and Innovation, according to the Hellenic Ministry of National Defence.
