The bloody attack on the 20-year-old that occurred last night in Thessaloniki, in the district of Kalamaria, ended tragically, as the young man ultimately succumbed to his injuries. Authorities believe the incident may be related to fan violence.

According to information, the Emergency Response Center received a call around 10 p.m. about a young man lying bleeding on the road on Argonauton Street.

Police forces from Hellenic Police and paramedics from National Emergency Aid Centre (EKAB) rushed to the scene and performed CPR on the victim of the attack.

The 20-year-old, who had suffered a stab wound in the back, was transported in critical condition to AHEPA University Hospital, where he died shortly after midnight.

The investigation has been taken over by the Organized Crime division, as the possibility that this was an incident of fan-related violence is being seriously examined. According to eyewitnesses, three individuals had set up an ambush, chased the young man, restrained him and stabbed him.

According to information, the victim had previously been identified as one of ten suspects involved in a group that arranged meetings with people under the pretense that they would meet underage girls. When the individuals arrived at the agreed locations, the group would attack them.

These meetings and attacks took place in the Meteora Grove, and the group the victim belonged to had carried out five such attacks between 10 November 2025 and 30 November 2025. A case file had already been formed against him and nine other suspects by the police department of Pavlos Melas for robbery, participation in a criminal organization, and dangerous bodily harm.

Residents in the area who spoke to Protothema.gr said that the attackers stabbed the 20-year-old, who collapsed bleeding next to a trash bin. After the attack, the perpetrators reportedly waited a short distance away in a nearby alley and watched the victim lying bleeding.

When police arrived, someone shouted that “those are the perpetrators,” at which point they fled the scene. A police officer attempted to chase them, but they managed to escape.
