IRNA: No second round of talks with the US – “Washington’s demands are excessive”

Iran’s state news agency IRNA denied reports of a new round of talks with the United States in Pakistan, claiming that such reports do not reflect reality.

According to IRNA, Washington is putting forward “excessive” demands, while being accused of adopting contradictory positions and frequently shifting its negotiating stance. The agency argues that these developments, combined with the blockade of Iranian ports and the use of “threatening rhetoric,” have so far hindered progress in the talks.

In a post on Telegram, IRNA stated that under the current conditions “there is no positive outlook for substantive negotiations,” without, however, citing a specific official or state body.

This position follows similar messages from two Iranian media outlets linked to the Revolutionary Guards, which also expressed doubts about Tehran’s participation in potential talks.

So far, it has not been officially confirmed whether Iranian officials will take part in the negotiations, while no competent authority has clarified the country’s stance regarding the possibility of new contacts with the United States.

“Last chance,” says Trump

The report comes after Donald Trump earlier stated that a new round of “negotiations” with Iran would take place. US Vice President J.D. Vance was among the members of the delegation expected to arrive in Pakistan tomorrow.

At the same time, the US president told Fox News that this is Iran’s “last chance” to accept a peace agreement.

He also added that he would not make “the same mistake” as former president Barack Obama, whose administration signed a comprehensive nuclear deal with Iran in 2015.

“If Iran does not sign this agreement, the entire country will be blown up,” Trump warned.
