A HAF AB-205 helicopter carried out a forced landing on Monday morning during a maintenance flight southeast of Kastelli Airport in Crete.
The helicopter belongs to the 358 Search and Rescue Squadron of the 112 Combat Wing and, according to the information, the landing was carried out due to a mechanical failure.
The crew members are in good health and were transferred to the Heraklion University General Hospital for precautionary reasons.

“On Monday, April 27, 2026, at 08:00, an AB-205 helicopter of the 358 Search and Rescue Squadron from the 112 Combat Wing, which was conducting a maintenance flight southeast of Kastelli Airport, carried out a forced landing due to a mechanical failure.
The helicopter crew is in good health, while they were transported to the Heraklion University General Hospital for precautionary reasons.
The causes of the incident are under investigation.”
