“Emily in Paris” officially to film in Mykonos in May, with Mitsotakis seal of approval – What he said at Cabinet

The Prime Minister made the announcement while Lina Mendoni and Leonidas Christopoulos were presenting the five-year plan for the development of the film industry in Greece

Although Cabinet meetings usually focus on more serious topics, today’s discussion included a cultural surprise from Kyriakos Mitsotakis.

According to reports, while the Minister of Culture Lina Mendoni and EKOME CEO Leonidas Christopoulos were presenting the five-year strategy for the growth of Greece’s film industry, the Prime Minister jokingly confirmed to ministers that the Netflix series Emily in Paris will be filmed in Mykonos in May.

In a light-hearted tone and playful mood, Mitsotakis—who has previously said he is a fan of the series—stated that filming will take place towards the end of May on the “Island of the Winds,” something already hinted at by viewers of the fourth season finale.

Mykonos is already reportedly preparing for the arrival of the show’s lead actress Lily Collins and the rest of the cast.

Jokingly, the Prime Minister even invited any interested members of the Cabinet to “hurry up” if they want to secure a cameo appearance.
