Officials from the Directorate for the Investigation of Arson Crimes (DAEE) have arrested three individuals alleged to have been involved in the fire that broke out at the former Badminton building in Goudi Park.
The DAEE took over the investigation from the moment the fire was reported. Through a series of coordinated operational actions, investigators succeeded in identifying three men as the alleged perpetrators. Arrest warrants were subsequently issued against them by the competent judicial authority.
The warrants were executed at around midday on Wednesday, July 29, 2026, during a coordinated police operation carried out in and around the Ilisia Grove.

Ten experienced officers from the Directorate for the Investigation of Arson Crimes took part in the operation, assisted by police officers from the Crime Prevention and Suppression Unit (OPKE), who located and arrested the three wanted suspects. The men, aged 29, 32 and 52, were taken into custody in execution of the arrest warrants issued against them.
The three suspects are expected to be brought before the competent prosecutorial and investigating judicial authorities, where the criminal proceedings prescribed by law will be initiated.
