In an unprecedented move, Eurozone finance ministers sent their peer, Greek Finance Minister Yanis Varoufakis, out of the meeting and are continuing discussions without him.
They are reportedly discussing some type of “Plan B”, while Varoufakis meets with International Monetary Fund chief Christine Lagarde, German Finance Minister Wolfgang Schaeuble and European Central Bank president Mario Draghi.
Sources state that the eurozone finance ministers rejected Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras request for an extension to the Greek bailout program, which expires on June 30. The same sources state that Varoufakis requested a one-month extension to the program amid the referendum furor. Eurogroup chief Jeroen Dijsselbloem and EU Economic and Monetary Affairs Commissioner Pierre Moscovici are currently preparing for a press conference following Eurogroup group.
