The weather is expected to worsen from today, Wednesday 30 September 2026, across the east and south of the country, with locally heavy rain and thunderstorms, mainly in Crete, as well as very stormy winds in the Aegean.

- Heavy rain and thunderstorms are forecast in places:
a) In Crete (mainly the regional units of Chania and Rethymno) from this evening, Wednesday 30 September, and on Thursday 1 October. The intense weather may at times continue until Sunday morning, 4 October.
b) Temporarily in Evia today, Wednesday 30 September, until the afternoon (orange warning).
- Locally very stormy north-easterly winds of 8 to 9 on the Beaufort scale will blow in the Aegean today, Wednesday 30 September, and tomorrow, Thursday 1 October.
