In a surgical operation, heavily armed officers from the Greek “FBI” arrested a 26-year-old Serbian man at a food and drink establishment in Thessaloniki on Wednesday afternoon (30/9).

The operation was organised and carried out with absolute secrecy and precision by experienced officers of the Organised Crime Sub-Directorate, as, according to information obtained by protothema.gr, Greek authorities had received information that the 26-year-old — who was wanted under a “Red Notice” — had entered the country in order to take part in a murder.

The Greek “FBI” officers managed to trace him by making use of information and, early in the afternoon, carried out a surprise raid on the food and drink establishment located near a well-known hotel on Thessaloniki’s seafront. The officers restrained him and handcuffed him, while three other people were also taken in with him.

Sources from the Hellenic Police (ELAS) say that the man crossed the Greek border on 26 September and that his presence in the country is directly linked to a premeditated attack.

The international Red Notice had been issued against him in connection with a robbery case, while he is also believed to be involved in other serious cases currently under scrutiny by the Serbian authorities.
