One more brutal murder committed by a transgender woman Kelly Day, who stabbed 50-year-old Larry Young 13 times after he mocked him for using the women’s restroom at a McDonald’s, has been reported in the United States.

According to the Chicago Tribune, 32-years-old Kelly Day was with his partner and his seven-year-old stepson when he violently attacked Larry Young last Wednesday on Chicago’s South Side.

Assistant State’s Attorney Sarah Grgkorovich said Young commented on Day’s gender when he approached her on the street, prompting the 31-year-old to begin arguing with him while his partner tried to pull him away.

During the confrontation, Young allegedly pushed Day before heading toward a nearby gas station. Day, a man identifying as a woman, then told his partner that he did not want to let “bullies” mock him for his choice without facing consequences.

According to prosecutors, he subsequently followed Young and started another altercation. Security camera footage reportedly captured him holding a knife while the 50-year-old man lay on the ground. He then allegedly stabbed him 13 times in the head, neck and arms.

After the attack, Day called the authorities, claiming he had been injured while trying to protect himself from a “pervert.” Prosecutors said he then left the scene after throwing away the knife, which police later recovered with part of its blade missing.

In a subsequent call to the authorities, Day gave a different account, claiming he had cut herself while cooking. Police arrested him at the hospital, where he had gone to receive first aid for a cut to his finger.

After his arrest, according to local media reports, Day claimed that Young had -allegedly- used a “homophobic slur”, made a gesture as though he were holding a gun, and threatened to have someone beat him up.

An autopsy found that the 50-year-old man had died from multiple sharp-force injuries. The tip of the metal blade was found lodged in his skull, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office.

Day has been charged with first-degree murder and remains in custody pending trial.
