New Democracy’s lead over ELAS in voting intention among valid votes has reached the psychological threshold of 10 percentage points, according to the results of an ALCO poll for Flash.gr. Both the governing party and Alexis Tsipras’ party have lost support, down 0.5 points to 23.8% and 0.6 points to 13.8%, respectively.

The polling company puts New Democracy’s voter retention at 60% of the vote it received in the June 2023 national elections, with small numbers of voters switching to existing parties. The largest shift is toward PASOK, at 2.3%. Meanwhile, 21.9% of those voters — equivalent to 8.9 percentage points — say they have not switched allegiance to another party but now identify as undecided. Another significant 7.5% — approximately 3 percentage points — say they would vote for “another party.”

For the first time, the company records voting intention for the “Alliance of Greeks” at 4%. The party is the one that convicted Golden Dawn member Ilias Kasidiaris, who was found guilty of participating in the criminal organization, has declared his support for. Based on this poll, the “Kasidiaris party” ranks sixth, ahead of Course to Freedom, at 3.5%, and Hope for Democracy, which registers 3%.

The poll shows PASOK remaining virtually unchanged, up 0.1 points to 11.2% in voting intention. This puts it 2.6 percentage points behind ELAS, compared with a gap of 3 points in September. The Communist Party of Greece (KKE) gains almost one percentage point, rising by 0.9 points and moving into fourth place, as Greek Solution loses 0.8 points.

Potential support for the “Samaras party” remains at the same level as in September, with 3% saying they would be “very likely” to vote for it. Among the broader group of respondents who say they would be “fairly likely” to support it, the figure falls by one percentage point, from 8% to 7%.

A continuation of the current government’s term is supported by 23% of respondents, down from 24% in September, while 63% want political change, unchanged from September. Some 34% say a single-party government is necessary to ensure economic stability, while 48% believe this can also be achieved through a coalition government.

More than one in two citizens say this winter will be more difficult for their families than last winter, while just 1% expect it to be easier. A total of 85% say high prices remain unabated, and only 10% see prices beginning to ease.

ALCO also asked several questions about private medical practices in connection with the Mazոնakis case. The responses indicate that citizens have become particularly distrustful of the quality of services provided and that an overwhelming majority are calling for inspections by an independent authority.
