Israel’s ambassador to Greece, Pninat Yanai, spoke highly of the country’s current economic situation and the capabilities of National Economy and Finance Minister and Eurogroup president Kyriakos Pierrakakis.
In a post on X, Yanai said Greece had managed to emerge from a “devastating economic crisis” and become “one of Europe’s most remarkable success stories and a country full of opportunities”. She also stressed that she intended to “do everything in her power to ensure that Israel plays a central role in the country’s next chapter”.
The Israeli ambassador visited the Ministry of National Economy and Finance on Tuesday (20 October), where she met Pierrakakis and discussed “practical opportunities for connecting Israeli investment funds, entrepreneurs, technology companies and financial institutions with the Greek market”.
From a devastating economic crisis to one of Europe’s most remarkable success stories. Greece today is a land of opportunity. 🇬🇷🇮🇱 Today, I had a fascinating meeting with Greece’s Minister of National Economy and Finance @minfingr , @Pierrakakis Kyriakos, an impressive leader whose vision for his country’s future left me deeply inspired. Greece’s economic transformation reflects leadership, structural reforms, fiscal discipline and, above all, vision. What impressed me most was the determination to build its next chapter through investment, technology, innovation and international partnerships — with Israel as a natural partner. We discussed practical opportunities to connect Israeli investment funds, entrepreneurs, technology companies and financial institutions with the Greek market. Agricultural innovation was another key focus: from water and irrigation technologies to precision agriculture, artificial intelligence and AgriTech, Israel has much to contribute. Our growing strategic partnership rests on deep trust and shared strengths: creativity, entrepreneurship, resilience and a belief in the power of people and ideas to change reality. To Israel’s business and financial community: I invite you to take a closer look at Greece’s opportunities. I left with tremendous admiration for Minister Pierrakakis — his professionalism, intellectual curiosity and vision. Greece is already an economic success story. Now comes the opportunity to be part of its next chapter — and I intend to do everything I can to ensure Israel plays a central role in writing it.
