Daylight saving time will come to an end in Greece on Sunday, October 25, 2026, when clocks will be turned back one hour, giving people an extra 60 minutes of sleep.
At 4 a.m. on Sunday, clocks will be set back to 3 a.m., marking the return to standard time, commonly known as winter time.
Transport Ministry announcement
The seasonal time change is carried out in accordance with European Union regulations governing the transition between daylight saving time and standard time.
Greece’s Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport has issued an official announcement confirming the change.
The statement reads:
“We remind the public that on Sunday, October 25, 2026, daylight saving time will come to an end, in accordance with Directive 2000/84/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of January 19, 2001, concerning summer-time arrangements.
“Clocks must be turned back by one hour, from 4:00 a.m. to 3:00 a.m.”
The change means that Sunday morning will be one hour longer as Greece switches back to standard time.
