Greece makes 186.3-mln-euro repayment to the IMF

Good news as Greece doesn't allow IMF backlog to build up

Greece repaid 186.3 mln euros to the International Monetary Fund (IMF) on Thursday, avoiding a new backog of payments to the international institutions while negotiating on its third bailout program.

A spokesman of the fund said in a brief announcement:

“Greece has paid the interest charges due to the IMF today (Thursday).”

The next payment of 306 million euros is due on September 1.
