A man, aged 31, was arrested by the Greek Cyber Crime Squad after he was found to have over 38,000 files with illicit material in his possession. Authorities traced the man after months of observation, managing to follow his child porn trafficking activities on the internet through the accounts of third persons whose sites he illegally had access to.
The police first gold involved during Peer-to-Peer (P2P) exchanges. It was found that he used a number of IPs belonging to third persons so that he could not be traced. Through methodic work, the cyber squad managed to locate him. He was arrested while on vacation away from his home. Police confiscated his lap top and three hard drives for lab work. Police found thousands of files featuring infants being abused.
The man has been lead to the Athens Prosecutor.
