Newsroom December 14 12:45
Metropolitan Cleopas of Sweden and the Holy Metropolis of Sweden and All Scandinavia has send a letter to all friends out there:

I am contacting you primarily to extend my most heartfelt wishes for a blessed Christmas and a healthy New Year!
I am addressing you with this letter, with a humble request that you contribute to an extraordinary expense of the Holy Metropolis of Sweden and All Scandinavia, which concerns the replacement of most of the metal roof of the Fellowship Hall of the St. George Cathedral of Stockholm, due to the corrosion of the metal joints of the roof and the entry of rainwater, through the created cracks, in many parts of the hall.

This project took 6 weeks and was completed last week, costing SEK 500,000 (€ 44.359) (USD 48,113).
The Holy Metropolis has already paid the amount of SEK 400,000 (€ 35,483) (USD 38,261), according to the attached invoices & receipts, and before the end of the year we must pay the remaining balance of SEK 100,000 (€ 8.871) (USD 9,565).
Since this expenditure was not in this year’s budget, right from the beginning, I would kindly ask you to help us with this initiative, which is part of the restoration project of our Cathedral.
Due to the water licks, the Cathedral Fellowship Hall remained closed for the last three years. We intend to paint the hall interior soon, so that it can reopen in the very near future, which will bring great joy to the parishioners and visitors of the Cathedral.
Just for your own information, in 2022 we replaced the electrical panels and installed the new electrical cables throughout the Cathedral, and last year we replaced all the heating radiators of the Cathedral and its hall; a big expense, which was also fully undertaken by the Holy Metropolis.
I am sure that your kindness and love you have shown for years towards my ministry and the parishes I serve in the Holy Metropolis of Sweden will act as a catalyst for you, to contribute generously to this extraordinary expense.
The promise I gave, about a decade ago, from my very first day in Scandinavia, immediately after I assumed the leadership diaconia and ministry of the Ecumenical Patriarchate’s historic Eparchy in the Northern Lands, i.e. that I would restore the Stockholm Cathedral from its foundations, I kept my promise, with the miraculous support and the illumination of the Grace of our Lord and the saints’ supplications, as the informative press releases related to the restoration and the photographic material that I have sent you from time to time also testify.
I am convinced that you too, with the grace of the Lord Incarnate, will contribute to our sacred vision, the preservation of the magnificent work of our ancestors, for the good of the Orthodox Church, until the end of the ages!

With many heartfelt wishes for the upcoming holidays to you all and your beloved families, along with my love, lifelong gratitude, and prayers in the Lord Incarnate,+ Metropolitan Cleopas of Sweden
