A surprising bid on behalf of Fraport AG-Slentel Ltd in regional airport tender

Greek state privatization fund TAIPED received the surprising offer of 1.4 billion euros on behalf of Fraport AG-Slentel Ltd for the privatization of 14 Greek airports.

According to information, this is the highest offer, as it is accompanied by a commitment for 400 million euros investments. The bids of the other two consortia range from 800-960 million euros, approximately 30% less than the the Fraport AG-Slentel Ltd bid.

The 14 airports are divided into two groups:

“Group A” includes the airports of Thessaloniki, Corfu, Chania, Cephallonia, Zakynthos, Aktion and Kavala.
“Group B” includes the airports of Rhodes, Kos, Samos, Mytilini, Mykonos, Santorini and Skiathos.

It should be noted that investors will be responsible for the operation and management of 14 regional airports in the country for 40 plus 10 years.
