A timely comedy, shot on Tinos

“Highway to Hellas”

Bankrupt Greece, a loan from a German bank, a non-existent electric power station on Palladiki island with its “crazy” residents, a beach which proves to be the subject of discord (and the cause for profit), a German banker on a “mission” which leads him to review his whole life. What’s more precious in this hopeless world after all? Money, or people?

“Highway to Hellas” is an Art House Comedy which takes place on a Greek island, Palladiki. Suddenly, German banker Geissner, played by Christoff Maria Herbst, arrives in order to verify if warranties provided by island residents who took out a loan to a German bank for which he works, are valid and if the loan is sustainable. During his visit, the banker must verify the correct operation of a clinic, to check a non-existent electric power station, and to verify if the heavenly beach which the residents have put up as a guarantee really exists.
