The election committee of New Democracy reconsidered the rejection of Adonis Georgiadis’s candidacy during today’s meeting and decided to accept his submission.

Adonis Georgiadis thanked the members of the committee and his fellow candidates by saying: “The decision of the election committee to reject my submission was right and fair. It was my fault since I delayed to submit my candidacy and I did not let them know in advance. I would like to thank the members and especially its chairman, Mr. Papamimiko. Many of the accusations against him were unfair”.

“I would also like to thank my fellow candidates. Vangelis Meimarakis was the first one to call me and tell me that he disagreed with what happened. Then, Mr. Tzitzikostas and Mr. Mitsotakis called me, too” he said adding that “I have no opponents on New Democracy. My only opponents are Syriza and Tsipras whom I’ll win if I am elected [as president of New Democracy]”.
