Air of sudden positivity in negotiations between lenders – Greek gov’t

After yesterday’s dead end described in the gov’t’s non-paper

The 11th of May Eurogroup is slowly revealing itself to becoming a turning point for the Greek economy. After the recent problems in negotiations between Greece and the Institutions, the Brussels talks seem to be finding much more common ground.

According to EC sources, there is a clear correlation of opinion on energy reforms, VAT and privatizations, giving a new, positive air to negotiations in view of Monday’s Eurogroup.

Even though the “Red lines” set by Tsipras’ government remain as obstacles towards an ultimate solution, the EC sources estimated that if Brussels Group negotiations continue as is, then there will be an even greater meeting of minds and solutions in the next few days.
