Anastasiadis:”Our participation is excluded to any proceedings challenging our sovereignty"

The Cypriot president emphasizes, inter alia, that "this clean and sincere message must be received, both by those who are convinced of the supposed good intentions of Turkey, and Ankara itself"

Newsroom November 2 02:50

At the 60th anniversary of the arrival of General George Grivas Digenis in Chlorakas event , the Cypriot president Mr. Nikos Abastasiadis stated that the desire, the will and the determination to solve the Cyprus issue is beyond facts, but the involvement of the Greek Cypriot side in a process that would actually accept the challenge to the sovereignty of the Republic of Cyprus’s EEZ, must be excluded.

The Cypriot president emphasizes, inter alia, that “this clean and sincere message must be received, both by those who are convinced of the supposed good intentions of Turkey, and Ankara itself”.

Turkish NAVTEX are illegal, impulsive actions, says Athens: “We will continue to exercise our sovereign rights”

Further, Mr. Anastasiadis stressed that: “ Turkish leadership reveals its real intentions”.

Among other, he said that “ We don’t need Turkey to indicate to us that the Turkish Cypriots have rights to natural gas because we already acknowledge it “.
The president of Cyprus also referred to the decision of the National Security Council of Turkey which proves once again the Turkish negativity and the continues provocative intervention in the EEZ of Cyprus, while removing any hope to resume talks and reach a solution to the Cyprus issue.

Mr. Anastasiadis made clear that the only side who is truly interested for a solution on the Cyprus issue is the Greek-Cypriot, since, according to him “is the Greek-Cypriots who suffer”.
