The great Greek poet Angelos Sikelianos was born in Lefkada in 1884. The new elected local authorities decided that it was time for the home of such a great personality to open once again its doors.
The doors are estimated to open again in the summer as the Angelos Sikelianos museum.
Angelos Sikelianos was born and raised in Lefkada. He was later nominated five times for the Nobel Prize in Literature and was a Greek lyric poet and playwright. He wrote on national history, religious symbolism, and universal harmony in poems such as The Light-Shadowed, Prologue to Life, Mother of God, and Delphic Utterance.
