The book business has been hit hard during the economic crisis

The Panepistimiou Street store was the flagship of the company since 1995, with many other stores in Greece’s capital and other major cities.
However, the book business has been hit hard during the economic crisis, forcing the company to close its stores one after the other. The flagship on Panepistimiou was the last one standing.
A major book bazaar will take place at the store on the 15th of September, lasting until the 26th of September.
According to a company statement, Eleftheroudakis will continue operating providing services such as “book on demand,” corporate gifts and international book orders. The statement also says that the company will be reactivated when there is a steady and healthy environment for business in Greece.
