Athens prosecutor gets info on 500,000 bank transactions

A secret meeting took place in Paris on December 17

The Athens prosecutor has an electronic file list with thousands of bank transactions of persons in the “new” Lagarde list after HSBC whistleblower Herve Falciani handed over details on thousands of allegedly suspicious international transactions to the Greek government.

Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras told the cabinet meeting on Wednesday that the former HSBC official in Switzerland passed the information, saved on a USB stick, to the government’s general secretary Herve Falciani on December 17. The meeting took place after Kalogirou left the Greek delegation at the European Council in Brussels and visited Falciani in Paris.
