A powerful explosion occurred at approximately 3:30 in the morning in a cafe at 468 Heraklion Avenue in Neo Heraklion.
Extensive damage was caused to the cafeteria and the first floor, as well as to an adjacent building as well as 4 vehicles.
This particular cafe had opened just a few days ago.
The police stopped the traffic of vehicles on Heraklion Avenue, from Konstantinoupoleos Street to Voreiu Epirou, with the movement of vehicles in that section being restored shortly before 7 am.
Specialists from the Explosive Ordnance Disposal Department rushed to the scene, looking for information on the causes and whether it could be due to a bomb. According to information, remains of an explosive device were found.
