Australia seeks soldiers from abroad

Greek soldiers are invited to make their way to Australia’s elite forces

The Australian government is seeking qualified soldiers from abroad to help reinforce its national defence and has started a recruitment campaign addressed to Greeks. Shooters, counter intelligence agents and qualified fighter jet pilots will be offered visas as part of a deal to work for Australia’s elite units. 135 positions are sought.

The Australian Defence Ministry prefers to hire recruits from the British Commonwealth as there are more tactical similarities, however hired soldiers that are part of Australia’s elite units include soldiers with backgrounds from Germany, Canada, Poland, and the United States.
