Baltas: Greece should not be ashamed of what is going on in Idomeni

“The shame of Idomeni is shame for humanity and the countries that closed their borders,” he said

Minister of Culture Aristides Baltas expressed a different perceptive of what is happening in Idomeni.

Speaking on Thursday at a press conference, Mr. Baltas referred to refugee issue and argued that Greece should not be ashamed of what is going on in Idomeni.

“We are trying to convince the refugees to go to the camps created,” said Mr. Baltas, noting that the policy followed by Athens is political solidarity rather than violence. “The shame of Idomeni is shame for humanity and the countries that closed their borders,” he added.

“Greece has nothing to be ashamed of in relation to Idomeni” he added.
