Berlin: No agreement with Greece without IMF

Clear statements by the German political leadership

“There is no agreement with Greece without the IMF,” is Berlin’s clear answer to various scenarios claiming the IMF is removing itself from the “Greek issue”.

A representative for Wolfgang Schaeuble said IMF in the Greek bailout is a requirement.

At the same time, reports from Riga hinted that Angela Merkel and Francois Hollande reiterated their support for an agreement with Greece immediately, and will work towards it, however, the Greek side will need to bridge the gap with the IMF, which cannot leave the program.
