Brad Pitt is devastated after her eldest daughter Shiloh’s decision to ditch his last name and keep that of her mother, Angelina Jolie. Their three daughters, Vivienne, Zahara and Shiloh have decided to use only their mother’s last name, thus showing that they do not want anything to do with the actor. However, what hurt him the most is reportedly Shiloh’s decision. According to a DailyMail report, Pitt is hurt that his daughter chose to be called only ‘Jolie’ on her 18th birthday.
Now that Shiloh is 18 and can decide for herself how her relationship with her father will develop, she has chosen to make this her first move as an adult,” says a source close to the actor.
He went on to say that the star thus loses the only hope he had to repair his relationship with his biological daughter. “Even if this is not done with minor children, in Shiloh’s case, nothing is Angelina’s choice. If Shiloh chooses to have limited contact with her dad, then that’s her decision,” he says.
She also added that whatever she decides, Brad Pitt will continue to “love her unconditionally”. “She would also like Shiloh to start making her own decisions about her future. So Brad is just going to wait and see what happens and hope for the best.”
Friends and people from the actor’s environment who have spoken from time to time about his relationship with his children, have reported that he has tried many times to reunite with them, without any result.
Two months ago, the actor withdrew his request to claim custody of the six children he had with his ex-wife. A source cited by the news agency said the couple, who have been in a legal dispute since 2016, are said to be reaching a settlement in the summer. Although Pitt initially sought to secure half-custody of his children, he plans to retire, leaving full custody to the actress. If this happens, he will have visitation rights.
Why was he led to this decision?
Despite what has been written, neither side has officially or through a representative announced anything related. However, Pete doesn’t seem to have any other choice. Four of his children, who are now adults (22-year-old Maddox, 20-year-old Pax and 19-year-old Zahara and 18-year-old Shiloh), do not have a good relationship with their father and, as adults, are not covered by any custody agreement.
