China and Russia to establish a new ratings agency

The economic relations between the two “giants” strengthen

Russian Finance Minister Anton Siluanov visited China today, and spoke about a jointly established ratings agency between the two countries.

According to Siluanov, the ratings agency will begin its work by evaluating joint investment programs and “will be created following the standards of existing rating agencies”.

“We want the evaluation the agency will be making to be apolitical”, stated Siluanov.

It should be noted that Standard and Poor’s ratings had reduced Russia’s debt rating one level over “junk” category, a few week after Moscow annexed the Ukrainian peninsual of Crimea.
