Church leader says Turkey’s aim to occupy Cyprus

Archbishop Chrysostomos Christmas message was fuelled by politics

Archbishop of Cyprus Chrysostomos gave a Christmas sermon stating that the aim of Turkey is to occupy the whole of Cyprus. His message for all Christian churches of Cyprus described Turkey’s goal to govern all of Cyprus.

Chrysostomos said “all illusions Greek Cypriots had are gone” as Turkish Cypriot leader Mustafa Akinci “has dropped his communicative mask” in the talks with his Greek Cypriot counterpart Nikos Anastasiades.
