Colombian artist's exhibition inspired by Melina Mercouri opens on October 15

The exhibition will be held on the occasion of the 20th anniversary since the death of the amazing actress

Colombian artist Julia Guerrero will present her exhibition that was inspired by famous Greek actress and politician Melina Mercouri from October 15-19 at the Athinais Cultural Center.

The exhibition will be held on the occasion of the 20th anniversary since the death of the amazing actress, who met international success with her performances in Never on Sunday, Phaedra, Topkapi, and Promise at Dawn.

Talking about her exhibition, Julia Guerrero noted the following: ‘This great new project consists of 50 works, through which I attempted to interpret the skill of unsurpassed Melina Mercouri. Through color, I try to approach the femininity of Melina and highlight her strong character, ultimately aiming at the viewer’s emotional awakening.”

Julia Guerrero was born in Colombia. She studied Fine Arts at the University of Bogota. She continued her studies at the Academy of Fine Arts and the Art Conservation School in Rome. For the last 22 years she has been living and working in Athens.
