Congressman says UFOs may be “ancient civilization”, senator says craft retrievers unaccountable

“This should be an opportunity for the government to be transparent”

They really might be here, according to a couple of Republicans in Congress.

Rep. Mike Gallagher (R-WI), a former Marine, last week suggested that UFOs could be time-traveling crafts piloted by humans from the future. If it sounds familiar, that’s because it’s essentially the premise behind the 1984 film “The Terminator.”

Gallagher, appearing on ESPN analyst Pat McAfee’s sports talk show, said UFOs — now more commonly called unidentified anomalous phenomena (UAPs) — “could actually be an ancient civilization that’s just been hiding here and is suddenly showing itself.”

“This should be an opportunity for the government to be transparent,” he said. “If we have information that disconfirms the extraterrestrial hypothesis, or all these other ones, at least it shows the government doing something competent and being forward-leaning by declassifying information to the public.”
