Coronavirus Greece: 17,176 new cases, 52 deaths, 408 intubated

Since the beginning of the pandemic, 4,274 patients have been discharged from the ICU

Greek authorities announced on Tuesday that the new laboratory-confirmed cases of coronavirus recorded in the last 24 hours are 17,176, of which 45 were identified after checks at the country’s entry points. The total number of cases is 2,438,872 (daily change + 0.7%), of which 49.5% are men. Based on the confirmed cases of the last 7 days, 285 are considered to be related to travel from abroad and 2,007 are related to an already known case. The number of deaths related to Covid-19 is 52, while since the beginning of the epidemic a total of 25,914 deaths have been recorded. 95.1% had an underlying disease and/or age 70 years and older.

The number of patients treated by intubation is 408 (64.2% men). Their median age is 67 years. 89.7% have an underlying disease and/or age 70 years and older. Among intubated patients, 291 (71.32%) are unvaccinated or partially vaccinated and 117 (28.68%) are fully vaccinated.
