Coronavirus Greece – 4,176 new cases – 39 deaths and 240 intubated

48.75% of those intubated are fully vaccinated

Greek authorities announced on Tuesday that the new laboratory-confirmed cases of the coronavirus recorded in the last 24 hours were 4,176. The total number of people who became ill amounts to 3,335,550 (daily change + 0.1%), of which 48.9% are men.

The number of possible new infections recorded in the last 24 hours was 385 while since the beginning of the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic the total number is estimated at 123,703 (3.6% of the total number of positive results).

From a geographical point of view, 1,530 cases were identified in Attica, 471 in Thessaloniki, three in Mount Athos, 106 in Heraklion, 101 in Achaia, 112 in Larissa, 96 in Magnesia, 82 in Messinia, 89 in Fthiotida, 83 in Chania, while 75 under investigation.

The new deaths of patients with COVID-19 are 39, while since the beginning of the epidemic a total of 29,249 deaths have been recorded. 95.5% had an underlying disease and/or age 70 years and older.

The number of patients treated by intubation is 240 (64.6% men). Their median age is 71 years. 93.3% have an underlying disease and/or age 70 years and older. Among intubated patients, 123 (51.25%) are unvaccinated or partially vaccinated and 117 (48.75%) are fully vaccinated. Since the beginning of the pandemic, 4,610 patients have been discharged from the ICU.
