Coronavirus Greece – 4,626 cases, 19 deaths and 161 intubated

Nearly half of those intubated are fully vaccinated

The new laboratory-confirmed cases of coronavirus recorded in Greece in the last 24 hours were 4,626. The total number of people who have been infected since the start of the pandemic is 3,406,553 (daily change + 0.1%), of which 48.8% are men.

The number of possible new infections recorded in the last 24 hours was 494 while since the beginning of the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic the total number is estimated at 130,499 (3.7% of the total number of positive results).

The 𝑅𝑡 for Greece based on the cases is estimated at 0.90 (95% DE: 0.83 – 0.97). The new deaths of patients with COVID-19 are 19, while since the beginning of the epidemic a total of 29,619 deaths have been recorded. 95.6% had an underlying disease and/or age 70 years and over.

The number of patients treated by intubation is 161 (64.6% men). Their median age is 71 years. 92.5% have an underlying disease and/or age 70 years and older. Among intubated patients, 81 (50.31%) are unvaccinated or partially vaccinated and 80 (49.69%) are fully vaccinated. Since the beginning of the pandemic, 4,660 patients have been discharged from the ICU.
