The 88th Academy Awards show kicks off on Sunday and celebrities will start lining the red carpet at the Dolby Theatre.

After months of preparation for Hollywood’s most glamorous night, the show will begin on Sunday, February 28 at 7 p.m. ET/4 p.m. PT at Dolby Theatre, Hollywood and will air live on the ABC broadcast network.

Comedian Chris Rock will host the event, with additional presentations from Vice President Joe Biden, and Hollywood stars such as J.J. Abrams, Whoopi Goldberg, Olivia Munn, and Cate Blanchett.

Moreover, Lady Gaga, Sam Smith, Dave Grohl and The Weeknd will perform musical numbers.

In the Best Picture award race the movies competing are: The Big Short, Bridge of Spies, Brooklyn, Mad Max: Fury Road, The Martian, The Revenant, Room and Spotlight. And they all have a shot.

The Actor in a Leading Role category includes many talented stars: Bryan Cranston, Trumbo, Matt Damon, The Martian, Leonardo DiCaprio, The Revenant, Michael Fassbender, Steve Jobs and Eddie Redmayne, The Danish Girl. They are all eager to win, but perhaps DiCaprio is among those who are wondering whether the moment to get the golden statuette has finally come.

Actress in a Leading Role category is also star-studded, with Cate Blanchett, Carol, Brie Larson, Room, Jennifer Lawrence, Joy, Charlotte Rampling, 45 Years and Saoirse Ronan, Brooklyn competing for the golden statuette .

The nominations for the Best Director category are Tom McCarthy, Spotlight, Adam McKay, The Big Short, George Miller, Mad Max: Fury Road, Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu, The Revenant, Lenny Abrahamson, Room.

The Revenant received 12 nominations and Mad Max: Fury Road has 10.
